Chroma is building the memory layer for AI applications. It's an open-source vector database, with multi-environment support from a local DB to a unique serverless architecture. Our mission is to accelerate the useful and creative applications of AI. Chroma proudly serves as the leading retrieval solution, trusted and loved by developers around the world, featuring embeddings, vector search, document storage, full-text search, metadata filtering, and multi-modal capabilities. We use Rust on the data plane, Go on the control plane, and Python and Typescript in product engineering.
